This wasn’t a tear-down. It was a take-two. Our clients loved their Platt Park neighborhood, but struggled to connect with the house itself. It was quirky, chopped up, and didn’t reflect their personalities at all. They wanted a home that felt layered, personal, and full of joy. No trends. No filler. Just bold, intentional design that made the most of what was already there—and elevated the rest. We partnered with Duet Build to execute the architectural enhancements that gave the home structure, soul, and staying power.

We wouldn’t have opted to do a custom build if it weren’t for Devon. There are simply too many decisions—too many places where things can go wrong—to do a custom-build without a confident vision. Enter Duet: They did a wonderful job of combining [my wife’s and my distinct] styles into a design that we both love for the entire home.

We understood from the beginning exactly what the costs were [for our first-floor renovation] and what the ultimate budget would be. And then Duet took it from there. We were completely insulated from the logistics, problem solving, and hard work that inevitably went into achieving the amazing end result. I had always been intimidated by interior design, but Duet made me feel so at ease. We give Duet our highest possible recommendation.

This firm takes the painstaking time to meet with you numerous times, has you touch fabrics, react to colors—all sorts of hands-on activities. Then they go to their “lab” and create your design. Their team is incredible with communication, ordering, and customer service. Every single detail [of our home] was implemented without any sort of delay, issue, or concern.

Duet exceeded our expectations (which were already fairly high), on time and on budget. Devon knows what she is doing, as does her entire staff. We were amazed by how well they figured out what we would like and how they pulled together comprehensive designs that we fell in love with when we saw them executed (and we’re pretty picky.)

We were on vacation when Duet Design completed the installation [of all design elements to our 1935 Tudor in Hilltop], and we returned to a stunning, beautiful, warm home. We are delighted with the final result, and highly recommend Duet Design for anyone looking to transform a house into a home!
