DDG: 10 Years Later

They say time flies when you’re having fun. Well, growing one of the most successful interior design companies in Colorado must be a blast because before they knew it, a decade had passed, and Devon Tobin and Miranda Cullen had done just that. Duet Design Group was the brainchild of these two ambitious women who were lucky enough to find their callings early on in life and continue it together. They started in a carriage house and have continued strolling down this path side by side for ten years. When one stumbles, the other is standing by, ready to steady the course. We sat down with Devon and Miranda to reflect on the past decade together and get to know these entrepreneurs a little better.

the office sounds off

Devon and Miranda are living examples of when they say opposites attract. Where one struggles, the other excels. These differences have been advantageous in their work lives because they can each take hold of distinct aspects of the business to create an effective balancing act. This recipe for success has taken them from Devon’s mother’s carriage house to a completely renovated office full of eager faces.

We asked some of those who work closest to them to weigh in on these two. Let’s see what they had to say.

What was your first impression of Miranda?

“Cameron Diaz but elegant”

“So easy to talk to! One of the most relaxing interviews I’ve ever been on”

What was your first impression of Devon?

“A chic hippie”

“Very outgoing and talkative, and that she really wanted to hire me

What is it like working with each of them?

“Motivating. They are both so driven and passionate about design, projects, and their clients. It is very inspiring”

“Inspiring and empowering. What I love most about working with Miranda and Devon is their willingness to listen to our ideas and eagerness to assist in bringing any ideas we have to fruition.”

How are they similar?

“They would both win best dressed in the office”

How are they different?

“Height, personality, and food interests”

“I do not believe they could order off the same menu, nor do their Netflix accounts offer anything remotely close to the same recommendations.”

If they were stuck on a desert island, what are three things they could not live without?

Devon“Her essential oils, business coach and crystals”

Miranda“Her family, her Frenchie’s (I figured their physical size lets them count as only one item) and a pair of fabulous shoes”

We have all enjoyed watching this partnership progress through the years and cannot wait to see what the next 10 have in store for Duet Design Group.
